Clutter Clearing Challenge – Day One

Clutter Clearing Challenge Day 1

Day One;
Personal Clutter

Thank you for joining me for this extra, deep dive into Clutter!

Join me in my private Facebook Group; Clarity, Courage, Change to get in touch with me. At this time, I won’t be able to answer personal emails/messages, but believe am setting up the energy in the group to be one of support and confidentiality. I will answer questions and comments in the posts 🙂

Today we are going to be looking at a different type of clutter. This isn’t in your home, so to speak, but it’s the clutter you carry around with you. Our bodies are the homes for our soul/spirit/who we are. So it’s good to check in with what we are carrying around with us every day.

Personal Clutter

Take your handbag/manbag/purse/wallet and put it in front of you. Taking everything out, what are you carrying around that you don’t need to?

When I did this, I looked at my work bag. In this day in age, it’s normal to carry around your work laptop and all the stuff which goes with it. I have the joy (insert sarcasm here) of carrying two laptops around, so my bag is extra heavy. However, I was carrying around so much more in there.

There is a note book which I don’t use, there are receipts from hotels which I stayed at two months ago, and I’m ashamed to say there’s a chocolate bar I brought “for the train journey” which I haven’t eaten. All of this adds to the weight of what I am carrying around with me – for no reason!

In my wallet, I have store cards (where they promise me goodies when I sign up) that I don’t shop in, receipts and other pieces of paper which really and truly are useless to me now. Again, things I am carrying around that I don’t need to.

One of my favourite things to say to people when I talk about clearing out their wallet or purse is, if someone gave you money to put in there, where would you put it? The universe likes to feel a void, so how can you get more money/abundance if your wallet is full! I know that people often get to work on clearing out their wallets and purses!

The other side to clutter we are carrying around with us is connected to our mobile phones. I can hear you gasping with shock, but think about your email inbox. How many times do you go in there to check it, or delete mail without reading them? I signed up to so many emails promising me great things, but then when I get them I just delete. Take time to think about the email and if you want to read it, if not, then use the unsubscribe button to save yourself time later on.

Questions to Answer Today

  1. What are the most important things I need to carry around with me on a daily basis?
  2. What else I am mentally carrying around that I could release?

Today’s Challenge

  • Clear our the clutter from your handbag, manbag, purse or wallet
  • Go through your emails and when you get to one you know you’re not going to read, unsubscribe. Going further, delete all the emails you aren’t going to read and deal with five you have been putting off.
