One of my favourite things to do is to build a Dream Board.  A collection of words and images on a piece of card or poster board that represent your wishes, desires and dreams.  You may have heard of them as Treasure Map, Vision Seed Map or Vision Board, but I learnt about them as dream boards, and always referred them to such ever since.  Over the next few days I am going to show you what I do when I create my dream boards, and by the weekend you will have all that you need to create your own.  I call my process Cut and Paste Your Future.  If you want to get prepared early, then all you need is a piece of card about A3 size, or poster board.

I believe that before you do anything in life, especially when you are starting out on a new journey, a new year or making a Dream Board, you need to know where you are in life right now.  When you know where you are, you can begin to move forward and make changes accordingly.  Think about it.  If you were in a remote place with just a map and a compass, before you can move on, you have to find out where you are right now to get to your destination.  Even your car navigation system has to pin point your current location to help you take the next turn.  So why not do the same now, before you create your new life.

I know it can sound daunting to do, but this isn’t a time to judge yourself, or give reasons as to why these things are happening to you, but all you need to do is recognise where you are in your life right now.  I recommend getting a piece of paper, and start writing down where you are in life and what is happening for you.  You can use the following headings to help you;

[bullet_list]

  • Self Knowledge and Spirituality
  • Career
  • Travelling / Holidays
  • Creativity
  • Health & Wellness
  • Family & Friends
  • Wealth & Abundance
  • Relationships
  • Home
[/bullet_list]
Using these headings, you will get a look at your life in general, and what is happening right now.  It may not all be good, but then again it might not all be bad, but it will help you to establish what is happening in your life right now, and what you need to do to move forward.

This exercise may also surprise you!  For example, as I went through this, I thought to myself that I had a good connection with friends and family, but actually, most of my connection is online or on the phone… I don’t see them much in person.  So this is something that I am going to look to change now, so that I can spend more time with those that are closest to me.

Tomorrow we will explore your life, and the changes that you want to make!
